Want help with your grieving process?
To grieve is the normal response to losing someone close to you. Moreover, everyone's grieving experience is unique. But sometimes bereavement gets complicated by:
- multiple or previous losses or other stresses
- the nature of the relationship (very close and intimate, or distant and problematic)
- the nature of the death, including by homicide or suicide
- the lack of family, friends or other needed support
- frustrations with the medical or legal system
Sometimes it just helps to have a trained listening ear to provide a compassionate container for those hard- to-manage thoughts and feelings. Jeanne's education and experience include Legacy Hospice training here in Portland. She is a current volunteer and has helped facilitate bereavement groups. Whether for one supportive session or for compassionate caring lasting several months, are you looking for someone who will listen?...who will not discount your experience?
Do you have a troubled child or family?
Most children's main modality of expression is through play. They often have difficulty putting their ideas and feelings into words, much less knowing how to work them through. They don't analyze...they act out!
Jeanne was the originator and implementer of the child-centered play therapy program at TLC Children's Center in Oakhurst, CA. She also provided consultation and training in the areas of child development and behavior management. Is her background in family systems something that would be of benefit to your child or your family? Call (503) 887-8574 for help.
Struggling with faith issues?
Many of the issues that bring people into therapy affect them on their deepest levels, shaking up their identity, meaning and purpose in life and causing a sense of isolation. Many people wonder, "Where is God when I hurt"?
Having benefited from her own years of spiritual journey, Jeanne can come alongside you with empathy and wisdom. She has a breadth of understanding about various denominations and belief systems and has been active in lay and professinal ministry.
